Speed reading

Heard of Spritz? It’s a new app enabling people to read content quickly. It moves the words, so your eye can stay in the same place – and it works. Even the basic demo takes you to 40% faster than a typical reading speed, and in tests people have gone faster still.

It’s a particularly good idea for reading text on handheld devices, because you no longer have to zoom in on tiny text: you simply read it at a handy size in a static window instead. No wonder the developers are busily tapping up content providers worldwide.

You can try it here. Oh, and watch out for the typo in the 350wpm demo. It leapt out at me. Proofreading pedantry: will I never be free of it? (No. Probably not.)
